Last Thursday August 18,2011 a pre tournament meeting was held at the meeting hall of the Paradise Beach Villas Hotel in Aruba. This meeting was held in preparation of the upcoming Pony Dutch Caribbean Tournament.
The participants discussed all the necessary actions to be taking in favor of the games. During the meeting it was decided that Aruba will be in charge of organizing the next PDC tournament. The Pony Baseball tournament rules and regulations were made clear to all participants while an explanation of the preparation works of the hosting island were made known. The organizers has scheduled the date for the next PDC tournament as October 4 – 8, 2011. The facility for the games will be Seru Pretoe Baseball Park. The Tournament’s Chairperson will be in hands of Mr. Benjamin Francees of Aruba while the Tournament Directors in representation of Pony Baseball’s CEO are Mr. Francis Wanga of Bonaire and Mr. Gabriel Brown of St. Maarten. Countries that have shown interest so far are St. Maarten, Saba, St.Eustatius, Anguilla, Puerto Rico, Panama, Jamaica, Sto. Domingo, St. Croix, Curacao, Bonaire and Aruba. As special guest two youth baseball teams from the USA will be invited.
The St. Martin Pony League were represented by Minerva Pinto, Esmee Thomas, Mr. Wilfred James and Mrs. Nadia Brown. Mr. Gabriel Brown in this capacity acted as member of Pony Caribbean Zone in representation of Pony Baseball Inc.’s CEO.
