Representatives from the entities and foundations working in the arena of NCDs, decision makers and technocrats of the Ministries tasked with NCDs strategic planning, implementation, and the support to the implementation of NCDs priority actions, are all invited to sign-up for the workshop if you haven’t already done so.

In 2018, two PAHO representatives were on the island to realize a gap analysis on NCDs and met with various stakeholders who are involved in and coordinating activities in the local community surrounding NCDs.

A draft PAHO report on the gap analysis was compiled and circulated to the participating stakeholders for their review and insight which was the first stage of the process.

The next stage is the Stakeholders Consultation scheduled for Thursday (February 7) and Friday (February 8), which will be facilitated by PAHO’s representatives. The consultation time will be from 8:30 to 16:30 on the aforementioned two days for stakeholders/partners responsible/identified in the arena of NCDs.

The tentative objectives of the workshop are:
• To present an overview of the situational report
• To develop the overall goal and mission for the NCD
• To agree on the Strategic Lines of Action and the related objectives
• To identify and agree on the key activities
• To agree on the related targets and indicators for the Strategic Lines for Action
• To discuss next steps for finalizing the NCD Multi-sectoral Plan of Action

The expected outcomes after the two-day workshop are:
• Consensus on the overall goal and mission of the NCD Plan of Action
• Consensus on the Strategic Lines of Action and their related objectives
• Agreements on the activities, performance Indicators, and key partners for each objective.
