The Collective Prevention Services (CPS) has held several successful dental consultations which climaxed with the World Oral Health Day Art competition 2018.
The winners for World Oral Health Day Art competition for 2018 were, first and second place, the St. Joseph primary school, and third place, the Montessori school.
The art competition was very successful where seven primary schools took part. CPS would like to express a big thank you to all the primary schools that took part, the students, teachers and parents, and encourages all of them to keep up the good work.
World Oral Health Day (WOHD) is celebrated every year on 20 March. It is an international day to celebrate the benefits of a healthy mouth and to promote worldwide awareness of the issues surrounding oral health and the importance of oral hygiene.
CPS is a department within the Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labour (Ministry VSA), is located.
The dental consultations were carried out by Dentist Hilda Guevara.
Dental caries or cavities can be prevented by avoiding dietary free sugars.
Severe dental caries can impair quality of life. For example, dental caries may cause difficulties in eating and sleeping, and in its advanced stages (abscesses), it may result in pain and chronic systemic infection.
