On Saturday, March 19th 2016, around 7.35 PM, the KPCN police station on St. Eustatius received a report of a collision between two vehicles on the John E. Mars Road, Statia.
A police patrol responded immediately. When arrived at the location where the collision took place, it turned out that there had been a collision between two vehicles on the crossing of Korthalsweg/John E. Mars Road. One of the drivers had lost control of the car and crashed into the left side of another car that was coming from the opposite direction. Both vehicles were slightly damaged. The occupants of both cars sustained minor injuries from the collision including lacerations and were transported by an ambulance to the hospital for medical examination.
Robbery On Monday, March 21st, at approximately 9.45 PM, a robbery took place on the Ada de Veer-Southern Road. A woman who was getting in her car, was surprised by an unknown young man who pushed her, snatched her black shoulder bag with contents and ran onto the Kerkweg . She tried to chase him but to no avail. The case is under investigation.
