On Friday, January 15th, 2016 the Public Prosecutor has officially taken leave of the Advocate General in Sint Maarten, Mr. Taco Stein, who by February 1st will retire. Stein is many years and worked in various positions for OM Sint Maarten: first as a prosecutor and later as Chief Prosecutor and the past four years as Advocate General. The latter position he also held in Aruba. During a well-attended farewell reception in Philipsburg spoke to the attorney general of Curaçao, Sint Maarten and Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba, Mr. Guus Schram, praised direction Stein: “You are the proud founding father of the OM in Sint Maarten as we know it and is thus the foundation of the many new developments that the Office is going through the final period. Partly because of your experiences, your knowledge, your diplomatic skills, we as the Public Prosecutor of leadership inspired to put the current developments underway. With your departure loses OM Sint Maarten are highly respected doyen, “says Schram. On behalf of the Board of Procurators General of the Netherlands was also the former Chief Prosecutor of Sint Maarten, Mr. Hans Mos present. Which expressed his gratitude for all the good work that Stein has done throughout his career with the Dutch Public Prosecution Service. Moss handed Stein while the TOM statuette, as a token of appreciation for his years of merit to the Public Prosecution. The function of Advocate General in St. Maarten will be taken over by Advocate General Anton van der Schans.
