On Wednesday March 25th the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade, a short film (approx. 12 minutes) about the Slave Route Heritage on St. Maarten, which was filmed by the students of SIMARC under the leadership of Jay Havisier, and the initiative of the St. Maarten National Commission for UNESCO. To commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the Slave Route Project, the film will be launched at 8am and made available to the public via theist Maarten National Commission for UNESCO’s Facebook page, located at Facebook.com/UNESCOStMaarten.
