Staff members of Social & Health Insurances, SZV donated 50 Christmas baskets to five schools on, Thursday, December 18.
The Christmas basket project was spearheaded by SZV’s Compliance Officer, Christine Holiday, who through contributions received from SZV’s staff, made the entire project possible.
“I wanted to make a small difference in the lives of those families that are presently going through some tough times”, stated Holiday.
Each donated basket contained various food items including: rice, flour, corn meal as well as other non-perishable goods.
Martin Luther King, Sister Marie Laurence, Leonald Conner, Marie Genevieve de Weever and Oranje School were among the schools visited. Ten baskets were donated to each school. Principals will be responsible for handing out the baskets to students in need.
“None of this would have been possible without the contributions of SZV’s staff and I would like to thank everyone who donated and made this initiative a success”, stated Holiday.
SZV staff members assisting Holiday with the Christmas basket project included: Glerah Isidora, Guillermina “Mientje” Pieters, Micheline Warner, Jermaine Arrindell, Marcus Temmer, Yeilys Page, Eduardo Richardson, Sabrina Vrutaal, Rodrique Richardson, Abraham “Bram” Christian, and security guard, Trevor Miller.
Additional basket deliveries will be made next week to selected churches or organizations.
