The PEACE IS Foundation is gearing up for its 8th Annual Peace Is Paradise Fundraising Breakfast which will be held on St. Maarten’s Day on November 11, 2014 at Taloula Mango’s from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The community at large is invited to come out and support this event as the funds generated from this breakfast are in benefit of this year’s beneficiary school’s violence prevention program.
“We have been organizing this breakfast successfully with our main Sponsor Taloula Mango’s and with the assistance of several businesses who are also devoted to our cause of promoting peace within the schools on the island,” said Glenville Blake, President of the Foundation. “We are a small organization that has been working quietly over the years with several schools and though our efforts may not be splashed across headlines every day, the work that we do as a non-profit organization have made a difference in several schools and in many lives.
Past beneficiary schools have been: Hillside Christian School Helmich Snijders, Academy PSVE, SXM Vocational School, Oranje School, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr School, and the Methodist Agogic Centre. The schools in the past chose different ways to utilize the funds in the form of: workshops, ordering of materials, etc.
“The foundation has chosen the St. Maarten Academy as the beneficiary school for this year’s 8th instalment breakfast and we are confident that our peace efforts will be successful to this institution,” Blake said.
Patrons will enjoy a traditional St. Maarten breakfast at Taloula Mango’s on the boardwalk for only $10, we invite you to support this worthy cause. Tickets are available at the St. Maarten Academy and at Taloula Mango’s.
