On Tuesday, June 24th a town-hall meeting was organised for the population of Sint Eustatius with the speakers Commissioner Reginald Zaandam of Education (Sint Eustatius), Project director Gerard Maas from OCW for the Caribbean Netherlands and chair woman Tineke Drenthe of the research team feasibility study. During this meeting the results of the feasibility study on the language of instruction were presented. The research confirms the feasibility of introducing English as the only language of instruction, with Dutch as a strong foreign language. The participants also received an explanation about the CXC examination system of the Caribbean Examination Council. The feasibility study presented this exam system as the best solution for secondary education with English as the language of instruction.
