Students in their last two years of school or those who recently completed secondary school are invited to attend the “Crafting a Resume” workshop scheduled to be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2014.
This free workshop is organized by The Student Support Services Division (SSSD) and will be held at the University of St. Martin from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
According to SSSD officials, not all students graduating high school are going away to study or going away immediately after graduation and these graduates need to be properly equipped with the knowledge to get jobs. The workshops will be conducted by SSSD’s Career Guidance Counselors Mr. Michel Chance and Ms. Sanjana Manek.
SSSD officials added that in the “Crafting a Resume” workshop participants will learn how to list their educational background information and skills in a presentable and professional way so they can get noticed by employers. This workshop will also help participants sharpen their resume writing skills in order for them to showcase their skills and abilities to potential employers. Participants will also create their own draft resume during the workshop. If participants already have a draft resume, they are encouraged to bring copies to the workshop so these can be improved.
Workshop participants are urged to be on time. Participants are also urged to bring their own writing utensils. If parents or students have any questions on these workshops, they can contact Mr. Chance or Ms. Manek at telephone 543-1235 for more information.
