The Dutch Caribbean Police Force (KPCN) has in recent weeks held a recruitment campaign for aspiring police officers. The Force was looking for candidates for the two-year training for police officer which starts in October. With the theme: “Do you have the guts? We have the job!” candidates were called upon to apply on Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba. On all three islands information sessions were held, which were well attended, also from interested parties from the surrounding islands/countries and by the parents and relations of the interested parties. The atmosphere at these sessions was good. KPCN is very happy with the enthusiasm they encountered at these meetings.
The application deadline is since expired and there have been more than 200 reactions from interested persons from Saba, St. Eustatius and Bonaire and the neighboring islands. KPCN is pleased with the large number of reactions. This indicates that many people on the islands feel involved in the work of the police and safety of our islands in general.
Follow-up
Within KPCN a committee specially designated for this will now start working work on the letter selection. Afterwards the first interviews will take place. With the candidates coming out of the first round of talks, various tests and examinations such as the sports test, the language test, the reliability test and the medical examination will then take place. Applicants will receive notice within two weeks whether or not they have past the first selection round, the letter selection.
