The Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labour in early November collaborated with the National Institute of Public Health and the Environment and the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (RIVM) to provide training for the staff of Youth Health Care section Baby Clinic. Participants also came from Saba, St. Eustatius and Bonaire.
Staff received a general presentation about the background of infectious disease control and vaccination; vaccination techniques and register; epidemiology of Diphteria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio; prevention of cervical cancer by the HPV vaccine; vaccine safety measles, mumps and rubella; and invasive vaccine-preventable diseases, Hib, Meningococci and Pneumococci.
