PM Encourages Community to Commemorate and Celebrate St. Maarten’s Day Celebrations

"Wear your St. Maarten Colors, fly your flags, and show your Pride"

The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams encourages the community to show their support for the celebration of the National Holiday on the eleventh of November.  

The Prime Minister, currently attending a meeting regarding the strengthening of the regional integration of the British and the Dutch OCTs on the regional response to HIV/AIDS in Trinidad and Tobago, stressed for the community of St. Maarten to come out in force to celebrate St. Maarten’s Day "I would like to urge the community to Celebrate St. Maarten. To all the people of St. Maarten, born here, belong here, visiting here; I would like to encourage you all to commemorate St. Maarten’s Day. Our Country deserves that we celebrate her, that we celebrate how fortunate we are to be living on St. Maarten so please wear your St. Maarten Colors, fly your flags and show your Pride," commented the Prime Minister.

The PM also encouraged everyone to attend the various celebrations commemorating St. Maarten’s Day. "This year it is St. Maarten South that will be hosting the festivities so I encourage everyone to take part in what is being offered, what is being organized for everyone to celebrate our country," stressed Prime Minister Wescot-Williams.

St. Maarten south will be hosting the St. Martin’s Day Celebrations this year, however there will be various events held on both sides of the island to celebrate the 521st birthday of the Friendly Island.
