On Tuesday September 17th at approximately 01.40 p.m. several police patrol. Detectives and ambulance were directed to the parking lot behind of the Police Headquarters next to the Richardson Building on the Walter Nisbeth road (Pondfill road) to investigate a shooting incident.
On the scene the investigating officers located the 36 year old victim with initials K.H. sitting in his pick-up. The victim, who was conscious, was bleeding from a gunshot wound to the right side of his body. The victim stated that the shooting had taken place at his home in Point Blanche. He further stated that he was attacked by three unknown masked men, one of whom was armed with a gun. He was threatened by these young men who demanded that he gave them everything he had. At one point during the incident the victim was shot. The robbers then fled the scene on foot and did not succeed in stealing anything. The victim jumped into his pick-up and drove to the parking-lot where he was found. The paramedics gave the victim first aid and then transported him to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further treatment. The Special Robbery Unit and the Forensic Department are investigating this case.
