St. Maarten telecommunication company, TelEm Group, is inviting photographers everywhere to submit their favourite digital photos highlighting beautiful scenes of flora, fauna and marine life – to have them published in the upcoming TelEm Group Telephone Directory 2014.
The company is seeking digital photos of the highest quality (300 DPI) showing the beauty of the island through its plant and marine life and says the photos must represent flora, fauna and marine life from St. Maarten/St. Martin, Saba or St. Eustatius – all the islands that are included in the 2014 Telephone Directory listings.
"For the next week, we want to see the best digital shots that exemplifies the directory’s theme: "Beautiful St. Maarten, flora, fauna and marine life," said Marketing and Sales Officer, Cheryl Rismay.
She said the submitted photos can be anything from a shot in the garden, to a clump of seaweed on the beach or a lazy iguana munching on a leaf.
"If it’s beautiful, quirky or just plain unusual, we want to see it," said Cheryl in announcing the invitation for submissions Wednesday.
She said anyone submitting their digital photo will automatically be granting permission for TelEm Group to publish the photo in the new directory within which the authorship of their work will be officially recognized.
She also announced that there are specific requirements and conditions for submissions to be accepted:
The work must be original and must also be of hi-resolution (300 DPI). No software enhancement is allowed and the photos can only be of flora, fauna and marine life from St. Maarten/St. Martin, Saba or St. Eustatius. All submissions must be accompanied by the full name and contact information of the person(s) making the submission.
"How many of us take beautiful photos all around us and never let them see the light of day. Here is a chance to have your picture published in a telephone directory that will be around for a long time, and so will your photo, if it is chosen," continued Cheryl.
She also announced that all photos chosen for publication will be entered into a draw with the chance to win one of several super prizes.
