The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams joined with numerous friends, family and residents of the Cripple Gate district to wish community patron, well known former school bus driver and ace mechanic George "Popo" Gumbs a happy ninety first birthday.
The Prime Minister, also joined by Cripple Gate Resident and President of the Collectivite Mrs. Aline Hanson, wished Popo as Mr. Gumbs is affectionately called a very happy birthday and recognized his work in ensuring that the children of the island were safely carried to and from school. "It is always an honor to be at the Birthday celebrations of matrons and patrons who have made such a difference in the community and who are in fact cornerstones of what makes St. Maarten such a special place," commented the Prime Minister.
