The recent cleanup campaign held last Saturday was the first event organized by the Cay Hill Community Council. It was deemed a definite success by President Raphael Rohan.
Residents were asked to discard any and all garbage and debris from their yards and have them placed on the side of the road for pickup. An average of two truck-loads of garbage were hauled away from about every street in the lower section of the district. Materials picked up ranged from lawn clippings to rusted fridges and stoves. Abandoned vehicles were tagged with notices and will be removed and crushed during the coming week.
The unexpected volume of debris has now compelled the Council to plan a second follow up campaign with special focus on the upper section of Cay Hill (former Cake House Area). The details of this will be announced within short.
Instrumental in the cleanup was Mr. Richardson and his staff of Meadowlands N.V. who provided the truck and manpower. The residents of Cay Hill also participated productively and appeared to welcome the initiative with gusto.
The Cay Hill Community Council would like to thank everyone who played a role in the cleanup campaign including the board members who assisted in the organization. The council is looking forward to continuing its efforts to improve the quality of life in Cay Hill.
