Matriarchs Honored for Providing Traditional Sweets and Tarts to Community
The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams attended the Bastille Day July 14th Celebrations at the Waterfront in Marigot on Sunday.
The highlight of the official ceremony was the presentation to various matriarchs of the various districts who have been keeping the tradition of baking, making and providing traditional sweets and cakes within the community. The Prime Minister wished residents of the Northern Side of the island and the People of the French Republic and its territories on a happy Bastille Day and National Holiday.
