Commissioner Zagers inspects the windmeetmast which was installed last Friday April 26th at Fort Bay on Saba to collect data on wind. The wind data are needed for further decision making on wind turbines on Saba. Per request of the executive councils the ministry of economic affairs has been working with GEBE on the feasibility of wind energy in conjunction with the current diesel systems. It seems feasible to install about 1 MW of wind capacity. The wind data will inform decision making on the number and type of wind turbines.
