The KPSM recently partnered with the White and Yellow Cross to provide officers with
specialized training on how to appropriately approach, respond to, and refer persons
living with Alzheimer’s disease.
The training was conducted by experienced professional nurses from the White and
Yellow Cross, who provided officers with practical knowledge and guidance to better
understand the challenges faced by persons battling Alzheimer’s and how to respond
safely, respectfully, and effectively when assistance is needed.
The Chief of Police Mr. Carl John thanked the White and Yellow Cross for partnering
with KPSM and for providing this valuable training. He emphasized that the knowledge
gained will better prepare officers to assist Alzheimer’s patients and their families
whenever and wherever they may require support.
KPSM remains committed to strengthening partnerships with organizations that provide
valuable training and resources to enhance the knowledge, preparedness, and
effectiveness of its officers.
Special thanks are extended to nurses Micheline Hunte, Minerva Maccow, Vaitaire
Overman, and all others who contributed to making this important and valuable training
possible.
