THE BOTTOM – The Ministry of Defense has begun the Mount Scenery Tower project on Saba. The helicopter to be used for this project landed on the island this morning.

Starting early next week, the helicopter will transport materials to and from Mount Scenery. Regularly scheduled flights will not be affected by these operations, though residents may experience noise from the helicopter.

The existing tower on Mt. Scenery will soon be dismantled and replaced by a modern, improved structure.

Trails closed

Certain hiking trails will be closed during the helicopter operations and throughout the duration of the project. Authorities will keep the public informed about which trails are affected and when.
