The St. Maarten Tourist Bureau (STB) which falls under the Ministry of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transportation and Telecommunications (Ministry TEATT), has been a proud partner and major sponsor of the Annual St. Martin Book Fair from its inception.
The sixteenth annual Book Fair is scheduled to kick-off from June 1st – 2nd, at the University of St. Martin (USM) with the opening ceremony at the Motorworld Showroom.
According to Ms. May-Ling Chun, Director of Tourism, the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau understands the importance of promoting tourism through literature and is looking forward to seeing an increase in visitors and would like to encourage the population to support this year’s Book Fair.
This event is expected to attract visitors and authors from the region and further abroad over the course of two-days.
Authors such as: Earl Lovelace (Trinidad), Ruel Johnson (Guyana), Sonia Williams (Barbados), Valerie Graves (USA)
Edwidge Danticat (Haiti & USA), Lililita Johnson-Forbes (St. Martin/USA), Julien Merion (Guadeloupe), Nerissa Golden (Monsterrat), Fabian Badejo (St. Martin), and Asha Lovelace (Trinidad and Tobago).
This event will also feature the launching of the book entitled “Fantasies Love Making Poems” by local writer, producer and the longest running Radio Host of ‘Culture Time’ Fabian Badejo.
Patrons of the Book Fair can come out to support their favorite authors at the University of St. Martin and the CCI located in Concordia.
