“Clinical Psychology Dr. Judith Arndell will be the guest speaker at 26th annual Black History Celebration lecture scheduled for this Saturday, February 25, at the Médiathèque Territoriale, (public library) Spring Concordia, Marigot, starting time 7:30pm,” said Shujah Reiph president of Conscious Lyrics Foundation (CLF).
With the theme “Migration,” the lecture will focus on Caribbean migration and key elements in which migration has impacted our history as a living process. Dr. Arndell author of the book Secret Pain: Identifying and Overcoming Unresolved Inner Pains and Anger from Parental Abandonment, has addressed this most painful topic of migration and abandonment in her book.
The annual Black History Celebration event has become one of the high points of the nation’s cultural calendar. “Over the past 25 years CLF has dealt with various sensitive topics,” said Reiph. Dr. Arndell has also been of service to communities, both locally and internationally for over 30 years and is no stranger to addressing the real issue in our community.
The month long celebration which started February 1, has been featuring daily interviews with persons who migrated to and from St. Martin. “The daily five minutes vignettes on SOS radio have covered a large cross section of the history of migration,” concluded Reiph.
