The United People’s Party (UP) Board extend condolences to the Government and people of France following the terror attack that occurred in Nice, France, in which a truck crashed into a crowd of people including children who had gathered on Thursday evening to watch Bastille Day fireworks.
“As a nation, we were deeply shocked to learn about what had transpired. 84 persons were killed and more than 200 injured. We pray for the families of the deceased, and express our heartfelt sympathy to the French nation. We pray for those who have been injured and wish them a speedy recovery.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with our brothers and sisters of St. Martin which is an integral part of the French nation state. When such a callous event takes place in one part of the French nation, it is also felt here on St. Martin/Sint Maarten. May those who have orchestrated these this atrocity receive swift justice,” Vice President Tatiana Arrindell said on Sunday on behalf of the UP Party Board President Silvia Meyers-Olivacee.
