For their “Community Workers” project the children of group 4 of the Asha Stevens Hillside Christian School had chosen “Pilot” as their topic and requested WINAIR and the SXM Airport to accommodate a field trip where the children would have the opportunity to learn more about Pilots and Aviation. WINAIR and SXM Airport were happy to host that field trip today February 25, 2016, in collaboration with Domino’s Pizza.
The children got to experience the security procedure at the airport, see a WINAIR airplane and interview WINAIR Captain Michael Jeffrey, First Officer Alexander Spencer and other pilots. At WINAIR Maintenance, Augustine Dorset showed the children what a mechanic’s job entails. And last but not least, the children were treated to Domino’s pizza in the departure hall of SXM Airport.
