On Sunday, July 5th around 3.30 PM a unilateral accident with a motorcycle took place on the way to Zeelandia during an illegal drag race. The driver got injured. The exact circumstances surrounding the accident is under investigation. After treatment in the hospital on Statia the victim, with multiple head injuries, was later transported by the medical helicopter to St. Maarten for further medical treatment.
On Sunday, July 5th theft of a purple scooter of the brand Gilera, with registration number M-272, was reported. The scooter was locked at the front and rear as well as by a slot in the handle. The theft occurred between Saturday, July 4th , around 8.00 PM and Sunday, July 5th around 7.00 AM. The case is under investigation.
