The minister of Defensie, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, will visit Curacao, St. Maarten, Statia and Saba during 6 -10 of april. The minister will visit the Dutch military forces that conduct defense and police duties in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. She will talk to different military and civilian authorities.
The minister will be guest of the Commander Netherlands Forces in the Caribbean on Tuesday and Wednesday. He is the commander of the military units that are ready to conduct duties to protect our territories, bring stability and maintain the law within the Dutch Caribbean and provide the ability to assist in multiple civil and nation requirements. As director of the Dutch Caribbean Coastguard, he is responsible for the maritime law enforcement and Search and Rescue at sea. In Willemstad, the minister will speak with the governor, the deputy prime-minister, the minister of Justice and the voorzitter van de Staten.
On Wednesday, she will visit Statia and Saba, where she will speak with the lieutenant-governors and the personnel of the Koninklijke Marechaussee. She will conclude the visit at Sint Maarten. There she will meet the governor, the prime-minister and the minister of Justice.
