The St. Peters Community Council’s (SPCC) Summer Camp has become the latest recipient of a small donation from the Philipsburg Jubilee Library on Tuesday, July 22.
The donation, made by PJL’s Activity and Public Relations Manager, Morenika Charles-Arrindell, was presented to SPCC’s Acting President and Camp Director, Shanna Cornet, in the form of free tickets to attend PJL and the National Institute of the Arts (NIA) summer musical showcase, entitled, “Anansi and the Great Salt Pond”.
We, at the Philipsburg Jubilee Library are happy to be able to reach out and assist, the St. Peters Community Council, who, like us, continue to create activities and programs that foster educational opportunities and learning experiences for youngsters during the summer months. We look forward to welcoming them to our Summer Musical on both Friday and Saturday”, stated Charles-Arrindell.
The donation will assist in having sixty children of SPCC’s summer camp, between the ages of four to 14 years and ten adult camp leaders attend the summer musical. The two-night musical , primarily made possible with funding from Cooperating Foundations , will be held on, Friday and Saturday at the Philipsburg Cultural Center, starting 7pm.
In expressing gratitude for the donation made, Camp Director, Cornet noted that “I am grateful to the Library for making this donation for the children of our summer camp possible. The children are very excited to see the musical”.
