Minister of Public Housing, Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure (Ministry VROMI) Hon. Maurice Lake on Wednesday afternoon was present for the installation of a temporary backboard along with the basketball rim for the Simpson Bay Village basketball court.
Permanent boards are scheduled to arrive at the end of July or early August.
“Additional recreational courts are needed in other districts for the nation’s youth. I promised to repair the basketball court in Simpson Bay Village and a promise made is a promise kept. I also would like to thank the Simpson Bay Community Council and Nelly Halley for their assistance in making this a reality for the youngsters. It was all a community effort and that is how we build a nation by joining hands together,” Minister Hon. Maurice Lake said on Wednesday.
