President of Parliament Hon. Gracita Arrindell on last week Friday met with Chairman of the Board of the St. Maarten Student Support Services (S4) Foundation in the Netherlands Rinaldo Hassell as a follow-up to a meeting that the President had with the board of S4 in early June.
President Arrindell met with the board of S4 during her attendance of the Inter-parliamentary Consultation of the Kingdom (IPOK) meetings in The Hague, the Netherlands.
Last Friday Arrindell and Hassell discussed the current status of S4 as well as preparations of students for their trip to Holland to continue with their studies.
Hassell said his visit was a courtesy call where they had open discussions on a number of issues such as the housing of S4 in The Hague.
Hassell added that it is very important to create awareness and inform parents about the organizations role in Holland.
During his visit Hassell will meet with parents of minors and students to discuss and prepare students for the journey to the Netherlands.
He is also visiting the islands of Saba and St. Eustatius to prepare those students and meet with their parents.
“We’ve have a nice and positive working relationship with the Government of Sint Maarten. We also have been getting great support from the President of Parliament Ms. Arrindell,” Hassell said on Tuesday.
