The American Women’s Club (AWC) has been in existence on Curacao since 1942. Again this year, the AWC is proud to recognize and provide financial support to several of the charitable organizations that help make Curacao an even better place to live. Due to the commitment and hard work of its members and the generosity of their sponsors, the AWC has once again been able to “give back” in a small way to the island.
On the morning of June 10, representatives of these charities met with AWC members at the United States Consulate General to receive their donations and make brief presentations about their organizations. U.S. Consul General James Moore hosted the memorable gathering at Roosevelt House.
This year, the donations went to the following deserving organizations:
• Autism Association
• Stichting Casa Cuna Villa Maria
• Casa Manita
• Curaçao Animal Rights Foundation (CARF)
• Stichting Dierenbescherming SDBC (Animal Shelter)
• Stichting Dierenhulp Curaçao
• Patientenvereniging Prinses Wilhelminafonds
• Shimaruku
• Siloam
• St. Vincent de Paul
• Totolika
• Westpunt Riders
• Plein Air Curaçao
• Kids for Corals
The AWC and the U.S. Consulate General sincerely thank all of the organizations for their exemplary dedication to the local community.
