Ministry of Public Health launches complaint system

The Ministry of Public Health Social Development & Labor has launched their complaint system, whereby the ministry is able to register complaints from the public at each of the executing agencies via the complaint manager of the respective agency.

Minister De Weever stated that with the implementation of the complaint system, the ministry will get a better look into what the problems are and how to solve them with the interest of serving clients better.

"Moreover, we will be creating a level of transparency, whereby the client will be informed from the beginning with a registered number of their complaint and a confirmation that happens throughout the process, which will be communicated to the client," said Minister De Weever.

The objective of the complaint system is to register, handle, manage and report back on complaints from the citizens of St. Maarten that are addressed to the Ministry of Public Health Social Development & Labor with their perception of the level of quality, service performance delivered by the ministry and societal issues handled by the ministry. Complaints will be handled within five working days after receipt.

Minister De Weever hopes that other ministries will follow suit, by implementing such a system.

The executing agencies within the ministry are as follows: Ambulance, Labor Affairs, Social Services, Collection Prevention Services, Community Development & Humanitarian Affairs, Inspection.
