On Monday, February 17th at approximately 09.45 p.m. a police patrol was sent to the Guana Bay area to investigate a report of numerous gunshots being fired in the area of the beach. Just before arriving on the scene the patrol got a second call informing them that the one responsible for firing the shots was driving a silver colored pick-up truck and was at the time leaving the area and heading in the direction of Philipsburg. This information was coming from an off-duty police officer who was driving behind of the suspect. The pickup of the suspect was blocked by the patrol and the suspect was ordered to exit the vehicle, with which he complied.
The patrol along with the off duty officer searched the vehicle and found a high power automatic rifle on the passengers seat of the pick-up.
