The University of St. Martin (USM) and the College financieel toezicht (Cft) collaborated once again in organizing an informative lecture on the theme "Healthy Public Finance, a Foundation for Growth".
This lecture focused on how we can build a solid foundation for sustainable growth in the Caribbean as part of the Dutch kingdom.
Keynote speaker for the lecture was Professor Age Bakker, Chairman of the College financieel toezicht.
Professor Bakker addressed among others the comparison of the financial supervision between Curacao/St. Maarten and the Euro area, the budget surplus/deficits within the kingdom, the debt ratios between the kingdom and the challenges the countries within the kingdom are facing to balance their budget.
The lecture was held Monday January 20th 2014.
