Deputy Minister Plenipotentiary Hon. Josianne Fleming-Artsen recently received her certificate of attendance after completing a diplomatic course at The Hague Political Academy.
The Minister attended the Academy in order to learn about the inner workings of Dutch Society and Politics in order to be able to carry out her responsibilities at the Sint Maarten House, and was also featured in the Diplomatic Magazine in The Hague.
"With a firm belief in continued education, it’s imperative that we grow our knowledge and build our skills to become familiar with the Dutch society and politics.
"Therefore becoming more proficient in my capabilities to work along well with the Dutch political establishment, the other international diplomats based in The Hague can only enhance our country’s presence in The Hague and as an integral part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands," Deputy Minister Plenipotentiary Hon. Josianne Fleming Artsen shared on Sunday.
The Hague Political Academy organizes five different modules in order to familiarize foreign diplomats and expats with Dutch Society and Politics.
The Course Supervisor was Dr. Bob van den Bos, political scientist and former Member of the Dutch and European Parliaments.
During the course, according to Deputy Minister Hon. Fleming Artsen, several distinctive guest speakers shared their knowledge and experience with the participants.
The program included courses on Dutch Domestic Politics; How to deal with Dutch and Diplomatic Protocol; Dutch Foreign and European Policy; European Policy; and the Role of the Media.
