Public Invited to View Secondary School Art Submissions For the Rest of the Week At the Library
The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams presented VIP tickets to the Winner of the Royal Quiz. Mr. Wayne Johnson became the winner of the Quiz that was placed in the local newspaper in which historic questions were asked about our previous Queens and Kings.
On Monday, November 11, he received his V.I.P. passes to the Youth Showcase that will be held on Wednesday, November 13, in honor of King Willem Alexander at the Festival Village. A cast of approximately 250 children will participate from the various dance schools as well as the Charlotte Brookson Academy under the artistic leadership of Mrs. Clara Reyes and Mrs. Arlene Halley of the National Institute of Arts. The general public is invited to be witness this majestic event which will also be broadcasted live on Cable TV.

On Tuesday, November 12, additional V.I.P. passes will be shared out, this time to the winners of the ‘Royal Visit Art contests’ which was held among the primary and secondary schools. Children were requested to be creative and make a portrait of the Royal Couple. A judge selected the winners who will receive their V.I.P. passes from the hands of Prime Minister during the official opening of the art exhibition at the Philipsburg Jubilee Library at 4 pm at the Philipsburg Jubilee Library. The public is invited and is able to view all art submissions for the remainder of the week.
