PM Continues to Pledge Support for the Plight of the Disabled on St. Maarten
The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams presented a personal contribution to the Top Promotions Foundation supporting the Be Able Program, which is centered on sponsoring sports for the disabled and raising awareness for those who may have a physical disability.
"With this personal donation I would like to commend the Top Promotions Foundation on the excellent job which they have been doing with regards to the disabled here on the island. The plight of the disabled is very dear to me due to the memory of two of my siblings who passed away in 2010 and 2011 because of a very rare disease which caused them to be disabled during the last part of their lives. Before they passed they were able to have a good quality of life because of the care of the Sister Basilia Center and the caregivers that work there. In their memory I present this personal contribution to the Be Able Activities and I urge the community of St. Maarten support the activities centered on bringing awareness and assisting those with a disability," concluded the Prime Minister.
