Road work activities start this weekend in Simpson Bay;

Hulda B. Richardson Road scheduled for September 17

Road pavement preventive maintenance will commence on Saturday in the Simpson Bay area. This work will be carried out weather permitting.

 

Starting from the intersection Airport Road/Sister Modesta Road, up to the intersection Regina Road, the road will be closed from 6.00am to 3.00pm for through traffic.

During these repairs heavy equipment will be used and motorists are advised to pay close attention and follow directional signs. Residents are also advised to be extra vigilant with respect to their children.

On September 16, road works will be carried out on a section of the Regina Road intersecting with Sister Patientia Road starting from 8.00pm in the evening to 5.00am in the morning. This section of road will be closed for any through traffic. Heavy equipment will be used to carry out the repairs and residents and motorists are advised to pay extra attention.

On September 17 a section of the Hulda B. Richardson Road will be closed for through traffic. The work is scheduled from 8.00pm to 5.00am.

Traffic that would like to drive to Oyster Pond Road/Westin Resort, have to go via A.Th. Illidge Road, Bishop Hill Road and then Oyster Pond Road or Middle Region Road/A. Th. Illidge Road/Bishop Hill Road and then Oyster Pond Road.

Residents living in the area of any of the aforementioned roads intersecting with Hulda B. Richardson Road have to pay close attention, especially the residents of Pinel Key Island Drive and Eleuthera Drive.

During the execution of the road works, residents living on the above mentioned roads will not be able to reach their home with their vehicles during the period 8.00pm to 2.00am on September 17.

Motorists are reminded to be alert and attentive to the road traffic deviation signs which will indicate road closures and re-routing of traffic.

Ministry VROMI apologizes for any inconvenience that may be caused with the partial closures during work activities.

These works are being carried out during the evening hours to ensure as little inconvenience as possible.
