A 30-min TV Special about the country’s Fire Department will be aired on St. Maarten Cable TV on Monday evening Channel 115 at 7.00pm.
The special can also be viewed by visiting the Government’s website www.sintmaartengov.org as of Monday.
Featured in the special is Chief of the Fire Department, Winston Salomon, Section Head Repression, Material and Logistics, Clive Richardson, and Section Head Prevention, Training and Education, Silvanico Pauletta.
Fire fighters protect life and property from fires and a variety of other emergencies. They are usually the first to respond to emergencies.
Firefighters not only respond immediately to fires, accidents and medical emergencies but at the scene, they perform specific tasks in order to handle and solve dangerous situations based on their professional training.
St. Maarten Fire Fighters strives to consistently promote a professional image during performance of all duties.
The special will highlight a number of responsibilities that the fire department has and how these are executed in the interests of public safety and protecting property.
The TV program will highlight skills, basic life support, emergency calls, women fire fighters, the advancement of the fire department over the years, inspections, maintaining current awareness and much more.
