To Submit to COM on Tuesday
Minister of Public Housing, Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure (Ministry of VROMI) Hon. Maurice Lake said on Sunday that Ministry of VROMI has concluded its investigation with respect to the 37 truckloads of milled asphalt that was transported from the Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA) on the evening of June 14 to different properties on the island.
Minister Lake says there are two recommendations which involve another Ministry and Department, adding that he will submit the Ministry of VROMI report to the Council of Ministers (COM) on Tuesday.
"I don’t have to resort to name calling on any radio program that has been done by former Minister William Marlin. We need to take politics to a higher level and get away from the gutter politics and also not telling the truth. Be always truthful to the people.
"There are three sides to a story, the former Minister William Marlin side, Minister Lake side, and the truth. As a Minister I have a responsibility to the people of this country and I want to get to the truth based on the law.
"Parliament has to hold Minister’s accountable for their actions. We can’t run government based on verbal agreements. We are not a banana republic," Minister Lake pointed out.
