Windward Islands Airways Intl NV (Winair) in its continuous efforts has upgraded it sales channels by joining the Sabre GDS (Global Distribution System) on June 7th , 2013. Joining the Sabre GDS will allow Winair to be sold by an additional 250,000 Travel Agents around the world but primarily in the USA. One of the advantages of joining Sabre is that Winair can now also be sold on Expedia and Travelocity which are presently being implemented. Travelocity and Expedia are the 2 largest On-Line Travel Agents that can sell Air, Hotels, cars and pretty much anything related to travel. Joining Sabre will also allow Winair to have potential Interline agreements with various carriers serving St. Maarten and the various Winair airports.
In further enhancing is customer experience, passengers booked on Winair flights can now check in online for their flights up to 24 hours in advance and up to 2 hours before departure. Clients with only Carryon baggage can now precede directly to the Winair Departure gates at least 30 minutes prior to departure. Clients that have checked baggage can proceed to the special Baggage Drop counters to have their baggage checked in. This new enhancement allows customers to spend less times in lines and have more time to enjoy their travel experience
