Twenty Youngsters complete Customer Service Training

Twenty youngsters enrolled in the Youth Development Program (YDP) has completed a customer service training facilitated by the Training and Development Center known as TDC. A certificate ceremony to commemorate the successful completion of the training was held on June 17th 2013 at the TDC Center.  

The workshop consisted of two full day sessions and focused on topics such as communication, telephone skills, presentation and etiquette. The training was instructed by David McGregor of TDC. For successful completion; the students needed to attend all the sessions, interact and actively participate in the sessions as well as complete assignments. Students following the training are enrolled in the YDP main program and are following the Front Desk Representative or Bartender/Restaurant Server course. In order to successfully complete the course, the student must complete a 90 Day traineeship. The customer service workshop aimed to train the students on how to effectively deal with customers which is a vital part of their traineeship.

St. Maarten Youth Development Program is a second chance educational program that aims to train youngsters between the ages of 18 and 24 years who were unable to complete secondary education. The program is executed by the Division of Educational Innovations (DEI) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports Affairs and is fully funded by Usona.
