The CAROA Conference that is being held on Sint Maarten from May 5-9 2013, held its opening ceremony on Sunday May 5th at the Sonesta Maho Beach Restort & Casino from 6:30 p.m.- 9:30 p.m.. Present at the ceremony were His Excellency the Governor Drs.Eugene Holiday, Honourable Prime Minister Sarah Wescott-Williams ,President of CAROA Mr.Valton Bend, President of Parliament Drs.Rudolphe Samuel, Mrs.Maruanne der Esch of International Divison Swedish Parliamentary Ombudsman(Keynote Speaker), Dr.Nilda Arduin and Pastor W.Smith.
His Excellency the Governor Drs.Eugene Holiday gave a welcoming speech , followed by President of CAROA Mr.Valton Bend who did the opening of the conference, President of Parliament Drs.Rudolphe Samuel gave some remarks, Mrs.Maruanne der Esch of International Divison Swedish Parliamentary Ombudsman(Keynote Speaker) who gave the keynote address "The Evolution ogf the Ombudsman concept started in Sweden and its worldwide status today", Dr.Nilda Arduin gave the vote of thanks and announcements of logistics for the week and Pastor W.Smith did the invocation. After the opening ceremony there was an invitation to a Cocktail Party.
