2nd Boston Whaler for Coastguard on St. Maarten

The staff of the Dutch Caribbean Coastguard on St. Maarten, accepted with great enthusiasm and pride the second Boston Whaler Justice 20 last Friday.

The Hr. Ms. Pelikaan, delivered the vessel on the Coastguard station in Simpson Bay. With this additional vessel, the Coastguard fulfills the express request of the Judicial authorities for more recognizable and locally deployable units in St. Maarten.

The Boston Whaler Justice 20 has a length of 20 feet (6.25 meters) and a depth of 38 cm. The Justice 20 has an outboard motor of 150 hp.

These vessels are used primarily in the bays and have a more friendly public appearance than the heavily armed super-RHIBs. St. Maarten had a need for such a vessel for a long time in Simpson Bay. With this second boat, the Coastguard can patrol more frequently and also carry out more controls..
