The energy policy will involve both solar energy and wind energy in addition to our waste to energy plant reducing dependency on fossil fuels," commented Deputy Prime Minister William Marlin .
The Solar Panels will provide some ten kilowatts of electricity for the Country’s Library and marks one of the first steps in the ‘greening’ of St. Maarten’s energy consumption, with similar projects slated for schools and various public buildings in the near future. "It is good to see that we are moving forward with alternative energy projects here on St. Maarten and I look forward to seeing the extending of similar projects in the future providing relief for both the environment and the people of St. Maarten.
