The Royal St. Kitts Hotel and Casino – formerly Jack Tar – is the venue for the Annual Review and Planning meeting of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Ministry spokesperson and Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Ms. Shez Dore-Tyson said the review will be held on Wednesday 27th February.
Ms. Dore-Tyson, who will chair the opening ceremony will give the opening remark. She said the theme of the meeting is "Embrace the Change, Face the Challenge, Maximise the Opportunities."
"This will be followed by the Report of the Director of Agriculture, Mr. Thomas Jackson and the address by the Minister of Agriculture, Sen. the Hon. Nigel Carty," she said.
"The session on the Agricultural Development Strategy will deal with Operation Food Security, Farming Agricultural System Transformation, Risk Management, Agribusiness and Marketing and includes indepth discussion.
She said the commitment of the IICA – the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture – to the Agricultural Development Strategy Medicine and the Partnership with Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and the Department of Agriculture and the Role of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) in Agriculture Development are also to be discussed.
