The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams met with the representative of the National Government of the Netherlands for Saba, St. Eustatius and Bonaire Wilbert Stolte at her Cabinet on Thursday. The PM and Mr. Stolte discussed various issues with regards to St. Maarten’s relationship to all three of the Dutch Caribbean islands particularly Saba and St. Eustatius.
The Representative of the National Government forms an administrative link between the National Government and the Public Entities. He promotes cooperation between the National Government and the governments of the Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba, has various legal tasks with regards to higher supervision and is tasked with reviewing decisions of the Public Entities in view of good governance.
