The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams attended the Belvedere Family Fun Day and James Henry Lynch Friendship Award at the Belvedere Community Center on Saturday. The James Henry Lynch Friendship Award is awarded to those individuals that have shown tireless work in supporting and developing the well-being of the community’s children and young people.
The Prime Minister congratulated and thanked the four recipients of the award for their hard work and dedication on behalf of the most vulnerable members of the community; "I congratulate the Belvedere Community Center members for their tireless work on behalf of the community’s children. I would like to emphasize to the honorees and to all of you who are here present the importance of community involvement and community togetherness, and in fostering this togetherness we should remember our ancestors and their contribution to our growth and development. During a week in which we celebrate St. Maarten, the remembrance of our ancestors and their contribution in making us who we are is paramount," stated the Prime Minister.
