October 10, 2012 marks Police Day.
President of Parliament Hon. Drs. Rodolphe Samuel would like to congratulate the Police Force of Sint Maarten on Police Day, and commends them for the courage and dedication in protecting the community they serve.
Samuel added that those work in policing the community 24-7 work tirelessly to serve their communities with commitment and integrity, and that the public quite rightly expects all police officers to demonstrate the very highest standards of professional conduct.
"Policing is a complex and high profile service within the community. One of the police service’s greatest strengths is its transparency and openness to challenge.
"The Sint Maarten Police Force has come a long way since October 10, 2010. Every effort is being made to upgrade and expand the force in order to meet the needs of the community.
"On behalf of the Parliament of Sint Maarten, I wish the men and women of the Sint Maarten Police Force Happy Police Day," President of Parliament Hon. Drs. Rodolphe Samuel said on Tuesday.
Samuel would also like to use this opportunity to welcome the other Police Forces who are visiting the island and participating in a number of activities organized by the Police Force of Sint Maarten.
