The purpose of the town hall meeting on Thursday for residents and stakeholders of Cole Bay, Billy Folly and Cay Bay, is to hear the views and ideas of the aforementioned with respect to the spatial development of the areas mentioned.
The Ministry of Public Housing, Spatial Development, Environment and Infrastructure (MinVROMI) is developing the legal framework for possible future development; to designate and/or reserve land for desired use; to prevent uncontrolled development; and to offer legal security to residents about future development.
The meeting is part of process of drafting of "development plans" for country Sint Maarten. The main topics to be looked at are roads and infrastructure; tourism and recreation; commercial, industrial; residential, public space and facilities; ecology, landscape and water; cultural heritage and archaeology.
The town hall meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 6 at Carl’s Unique Inn Conference room, Cole Bay from 7.00pm to 9.30pm.
Town hall presentations are currently available online for download about Simpson Bay, Airport and Beacon Hill as well as Hillside Conservation areas.

On the aforementioned page you then go to "Zoning/Development Plans" and below you will find both presentations. The presentation to be provided at the Thursday town hall meeting will be uploaded to the website on Friday. The revised outline of the Simpson Bay, Airport and Beacon Hill area will be available on the website on Wednesday.
